Organic Species Tulips

Collection: Organic Species Tulips

Species Tulips perform well underplanted beneath trees, scattered in drifts to brighten spring lawns. They attract early emerging insects and provide a vital food source for pollinators, and will provide a spectrum of joyful colour to gravel gardens and pot displays. They naturalise beautifully and are perennial, returning in larger numbers year after year. They make a wonderful addition to bulb lasagne pots.

Organic Tulip Cultivation

  • Meet Our Growers

Our organic tulips are cultivated by a collective of 2nd and 3rd generation natural bulb farming families based in the north west of Holland, where climatic conditions provide the perfect atmosphere for organic tulip bulbs to thrive.

  • No Chemicals used in Production

The bulb fields are formed from clay soil, the land enriched with deer manure which acts as an organic fertilizer and a rich compost for planting. No chemicals, fungicides, herbicides or neonicotinoids are used in the production of our flower bulbs.

This is crucial to the quality and provenance of carbohydrate rich nectar that is vital to the health and survival of our critical pollinators.

  • Individually Selected

Tulip Bulb harvest begins in mid to late June. The flower heads are cut in May with a mechanised blade taking great care not to damage the leaves, thus ensuring all vital nutrients return to the the bulb as the foliage dies back. Any remaining blooms are plucked out by hand and fed to grazing deer.

Bulbs are peeled, size graded and dried at the farmhouse ready to be packed and shipped.
