Well named, superb crocus. White goblets which open to revel frilly orange stamens. The stem to throat of the flowers are streaked with purple water colour marking as if the root is drinking purple liquid. Produces big blooms, plant in troughs, containers, sunny grassland meadows which have good drainage where it can naturalise Or in scree and gravel beds along side other well suited alpine plants. These bulbs are best not planted in perennial borders

Plant in autumn 5-8cm deep and apart.
