Fritillaria 'meleagris'

from £6.95

Grown & Soil Association Certified 100% Organic

These are such a source of joy to behold. Enchanting and bashful in habit. A purple chequered hanging bell per stem.

This species grows well in damp, rich soil which is free draining in light shade. Given these conditions can naturalize well in grasslands or meadow conditions.

Plant with F. meleagris alba which also enjoy the same conditions.

Plant in in Autumn 10cm deep and 10cm apart

Our Tip: If you would like to them to grow in meadow conditions, start them off in pots and then plant out. Plant 5 bulbs in a 10cm pot , as the foliage appears in spring, carefully remove the bulbs with as little root disturbance as possible and plant into their final position. Handle Fritillaria bulbs with extreme care as they have no protection as such and bruise easily.

Pollinator value: You will often see solitary bees literally clinging to the flowers in early spring.

Flowering Month: April-May Height: 30cm Density: 10m2 Position: Half/Full Sun

PLEASE NOTE BULBS WILL BE SHIPPED FROM OCTOBER 24
